Azeez O. Olaniyan

I am a Professor of Political Science at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Nigeria, and currently the Director of Advancement Centre of the University. I was formerly a faculty member at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU). I have specialties in Comparative Politics and International Studies, with research focus on armed conflicts, peace and conflict resolution, security studies, political ecology, and governance.
I have conducted fieldworks in Nigeria and Ghana on armed conflicts. I have also attended conferences and workshops in different parts of the world. My research and travels have been supported with grants by various bodies and organizations such as Carnegie Corporation, Andrew W. Melon Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Rachel Carson Centre,  American Political Science Association, Institute of Security Studies, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), etc.
I also served as Chairman Caretaker Committee of Ekiti Southwest Local Government area of Ekiti state between November 2010 and February 2012
